A NEW fatigue test on a complete Buccaneer airframe was commissioned recently at British Aerospace's Weybridge Division factory at Brough. This is a life extension test and with the actuator loads in complete harmony intended to ensure the continued structural integrity of the aircraft in service with the RAF. The test has commenced on time, under a fixed price contract placed by MOD (PE) two years previously. The preparation work has included a complete re-assessment of the aerodynamic and structural loadings, and design and manufacture of a complete new installation for the test.
