BRENT Europe Ltd has launched a range of ARDROX paint softeners that conform to its policy of developing environmentally acceptable products. These softeners are for use on both civil and military aircraft as replacements for traditional methylene chloride- and phenol-based paint removers. Developed and marketed by Brent's Aerospace Systems Group, they do not contain chlorinated hydrocarbons, phenols, chromates or any other unacceptable raw material. They are designed instead to soften the paint systems which are then generally removed by mechanical blasting methods. The softeners are non-flammable and use solvents that are biodegradable for easier effluent treatment.
