A new type of continuous reading fuel-depth gauge, incorporating a novel departure from standard practice, is fitted to the new Civil Biplane built by the Blackburn Aeroplane Co. to the order of the Air Ministry. The new gauge is of the Omega type, manufactured by the “Korect” Depth Gauge Company, and, whereas in the standard instrument the necessary supply of air is secured from a small air pump electrically driven or attached to the engine revolution counter, in this instance the air pressure is taken from a high pressure air cylinder.
