THIS month we publish a paper on a subject which is completely novel so far as AIRCRAFT ENGINEERING is concerned. Indeed, we do not remember having ever read an investigation into what may be described as the scientific principles of seat design, whether of a general nature or taking note of the special requirements of passengers carried in aircraft—certainly it is the first time in twenty-one years that the matter has been dealt with here.
