The Dynamic Manned Vehicle Simulator (DMVS) developed and operated by British Aircraft Corporation at Weybridge is described in this paper; full performance information being included. In the field of manned vehicle research the DMVS is the only simulator available in Europe in which the vehicle crew experience, in addition to visual and aural effects, accelerations in five axes. Together these factors give an illusion of realism otherwise unobtainable outside the vehicle simulated. In the past it has been used almost exclusively for the development of the TSR-2, and as result of the cancellation of the project the DMVS and the associated analogue computers are now being used for more general applications. The cost of using the DMVS is said to be low when measured against the speed with which large quantities of experimental data can be obtained.
