Scheduled to enter service on the airline's routes early in 1983, the Boeing 757–200 aircraft for British Airways will be operating in a single class, 189-passenger configuration with a pitch of 32 in between the seat rows. Roll-out of the first aircraft will take place in January, 1982 and an extensive flight test programme will begin in the following month that will lead to FAA and CAA certification before the end of that year.
