In BOAC's standard maintenance programme, the blue ‘cheat line’ which extends along the entire fuselage of both Boeings is stripped and repainted every other year. On both aircraft the windows are set in the cheat line, so each aperture has to be masked-off to prevent overspray reaching the plexiglass and causing crazing.
