DESIGN Technologies Ltd has developed the Desitech ‘UM’ Ultrasonic Profile Cutting process under an R & D contract from a major United States aerospace supplier. The initial application of the process is in cutting uncured prepreg carbon fibre, glass fibre and kevlar, all materials increasingly being used by the aerospace industry.
