THE genealogy of the A300B European Airbus, currently engaging an increasing workforce in Britain, France, Germany and the Netherlands, can be traced back to October 1965 when a European airlines symposium held in London confirmed the operator's need, early in the 1970s, for a medium-range, twin-jet airliner with a capacity of around 200 seats.
