Abstract In a series of experiments at Millstone Hill the total electron content along the path to different GPS satellites has been compared using simultaneous integrated phase and incoherent scatter measurements. An analysis of these data allows verification of our technique for determining the ionospheric and tropospheric path delay from the integrated phase data. It also provides the opportunity for evaluation of the IRI model in an operational sense.
