Abstract The Cosmic Infrared Background due to the radiation of early galaxies redshifted to the near infrared, and after dust formation also giving rise to a far infrared background, will be studied with ISO's photometer. Compared to other cold satellite telescopes ISO offers instrumental features which facilitate the correction of bright galactic foreground components.
