AbstractExisting coronagraphic measurements, obtained by the world-wide net of observatories, are used to characterize the large-scale variabilities and periodicities in the 530.3 nm emission corona over the period 1943–1991. Specifically, the time-latitude distribution of the coronal brightness is shown and in this connection the double maxima of the solar cycles, fine structure of the butterfly diagrams, N-S asymmetry and two modes - rigid and differential - of the coronal rotation are discussed.
