Abstract Using the most reliable observational data we determine the mass distribution of white dwarfs and planetary nebulae central stars. It is shown that in both cases the board distribution takes place. The dispersion of white dwarf mass distribution is close to 0.2 M. The knowledge of mass distribution of final products of stellar evolution (white dwarfs (WD) and planetary nebula central stars is necessary to study evolution of stellar evolution. The works of the Kiel group scientists [10, 15, 13, 16] are popular among investigators. These works using the theoretical models (both of WDs and planetary nebula (PN) central stars) and observational data (both their own and complied from the literature) allow the authors to conclude that the mass distribution is very narrow. We have analyzed the data [6, 7, 1], [14, 9, 17, 3], concluded the same result. In the present paper we take once more the problem of the mass distribution of the final products of stellar evolution.
