Abstract A instrument concept for a high throughput, high time and energy resolution gamma-ray detector is presented. Based on an array of 12 high purity germanium detectors, it is capable of obtaining data of unprecedented sensitivity on the energy spectra of gamma-ray bursts, including, for the first time, polarization measurements. It is presently envisioned as an investigation for a platform which can accommodate massive experiments with large amounts of telemetry, for example, a space station.
