Abstract On 4–8 June 1990 an AGU Chapman Conference on Venus and Mars was held in Balatonfüred, Hungary. The purpose of the conference was to bring together an international group of atmospheric and space scientists for a week of discussions related to the atmospheres, ionospheres, and solar wind interactions of these terrestrial planets. This paper provides a synopsis of some of the reports and discussions that occurred.
