Abstract Combining the Spot HRV data taken by P-mode and the Landsat TM data, an improved satellite image was generated. This new image is expressed in color with 10 meter spatial resolution. Selection of three TM bands for the color composition and the histogram transformation of the band data for printing are examined. Next, a geographical information overlapped with this satellite image was examined. Line segments as transformation networks of roads and railways, administrative boundaries, location names are involved in the information. Thickness of the lines and superimposition techniques in printing are discussed also. Finally, an experimental map of Tokyo and Vicinity was compiled as a sightseeing map at a scale of 1:50,000.
