AbstractWe describe mirror mode structures observed by ISEE 1 and ISEE 2. We cite an example where there is a good correlation between signals measured at the two spacecraft while they are 2250 km apart, and another example where the correlation is much poorer, although the spacecraft are only 340 km apart. We attempt to explain the three dimensional form of the plasma and magnetic field structures which the spacecraft encountered in each case.
