The problem of designing suitable discrete-time attitude controllers for magnetically actuatedspacecraft is considered. A number of different techniques is considered and a novel approach tothe tuning of "projection based" controllers based on periodic optimal control is proposed. Theadvantages of the proposed method are presented, discussed, and validated in a simulation study.
