Brief outline of successful American designed Diesel engine; engines are usually of very rugged design, and if given moderate attention and periodic overhaul, should survive hull of vessel in which they are installed; they are of multiple cylinder type and vary from 3 to 12 cylinders per engine; all cylinders are of same bore and stroke.
