Study to determine whether warrant for traffic signal control could be established by using relation between availability of gaps in traffic stream on major street and lag and/or gap acceptance by driver on minor street; equations are given for percentage of gap utilization at approaches to intersection; tabulation includes data for solving actual problems; analysis was carried out on basis of study of intersection in Washington, DC.
