Number of ideas and concepts for collapsible sign supports are investigated and suggestions for design of different types of connections are proposed; physical tests should be conducted on some designs and further modifications made on basis of test results; designs worthy of further investigation seem to be shear-pin joint, welded joint, clip joint, and multi-member supports.
