Results of traffic surveys at Tyneside conurbation are described at 53 points; from coded results of roadside interviews, tabulations of interzonal flows were produced, and are being used for predicting future traffic movements on basis of J.C.Tanner equation which assumes that traffic flow is proportional to population of pair of zones and distance between them; home questionnaires were distributed and results analyzed on car ownership and trip generation; surveys were made of trip times, and speed per vehicle concentration relations were established.
