Factors in design of range of light hovercraft with good performance for overwater and overland use (military, naval, government), with specific reference to HC6B and HC6C; reduction in skirt wear is achieved in HC6B by exceptional power/weight ratio in lift mode and improved cushion retention, former by utilizing engines producing 0. 9 bhp/lb (excluding heat exchanges and fans) allied to lightweight body construction and latter by aerodynamic means; skirt drag is further reduced by inducing peripheral jet to Coanda directly under inflated Coanda tubes; cutaway drawing, and table of particulars for both craft are included.
