Development of helix and lined waveguides as practical circular waveguides for millimeter wave transmission; one of waveguide systems is tandem hybrid type composed of helix waveguides and lined waveguides, while other is all helix waveguide system; use of copper plated steel pipe with polyethylene lining for lined waveguides; efforts to obtain straight steel pipes and to increase durability of guides; one-trip-pulse method was used to measure accurate attenuation; application of carbonized acrylo-nitrile fiber for lossy layer outside helix winding.
