About 200 sets of small Diesel locomotives now on service, 60 sets being fitted with Japanese-made Diesel engines; high-powered Diesel locomotives are not suitable in Japan, but in Manchuria, high-powered Diesel locomotives are in important position due to severe climate; about 600 gasoline cars and 10 Diesel cars now in service in Japan.
