At Big Elk, Del, North East, Md, and Winans, three outlying locations involving switches where number of main tracks change from four to three, Pennsylvania has replaced mechanical inter-lockings with power switches and signals controlled remotely from two centralized traffic control type control machines, code apparatus being used to control field functions and to bring in indications.
