Distribution and overhead line systems for 50-cycle scheme between Jadotville and Tenke; overhead system consists of grooved copper contact wire of 1.6 sq in. cross section suspended by droppers from bronze catenary of 1.18 sq in.; Bo-Bo locomotives with 50-cycle traction motors have automatic acceleration and rheostatic braking; electric supply is 22,000 v, single-phase; passenger trains range between 400 and 450 tons.
