Mine haulage system was designed to move greater proportion of waste and all of ore by rail, primarily because of relatively long haul distances involved; rail haulage equipment consists of 17-1750 hp diesel-electric locomotives, 7-1200 hp locomotives, also diesel-electric, and 211 side dump cars of 40 and 43 cu yd capacity; major effort is to reduce maintenance labor.
