Evaluation of radiative transport as means for removing heat from rocket nozzle walls; mechanisms contributing to ordinary thermal conductivity of metals and dielectrics and factors limiting conductivity; radiative transport and ordinary conductivity characteristics of solids are compared; analysis of rocket nozzle design illustrating advantages of using radiative transport within solids to extract heat from nozzle wall.
