Survey of work done dealing with optimization of multistage rockets and investigations in terms of nondimensional parameters, about dependence of performance of rockets on mass ratios of various components of structure, payload, thrust, and specific impulse; it is shown that most favorable time is generally lagging slightly behind that for maximum cut-off velocity.
