Program carried out at Aerojet-General Corp to demonstrate feasibility of servicing and launching liquid propellant rockets floating in sea, without use of special launching platform; vehicle is launched from vertical floating position; thrust chamber being started and fired some distance under surface during initial phase of flight; feasibility was demonstrated by successful rocket ignitions under water in flooded test bay.
