Computational scheme for predicting strength and stiffness of unconventional hatch configurations, which have been proposed recently and involve hatches of unusual width or 2 or more lines of hatches; analysis is used to predict results on 6 Newport News models used by J.P.Bailey; in general, analytical predictions agree well with experimental results.
