Use of jet reaction devicer as means of space vehicle control outside of atmosphere is investigated; ratio of jet stagnation pressure to free stream static pressure was varied from 8 to 460 and jet slot width from 0.001 to 0.05 in.; ratio of aerodynamic to pure jet reaction force was sizable and varied from 0.5 to 9; ratio increased with increasing pressure ratio and decreasing slot width.
