Project for 223-ft tanker of aluminum was initiated by Vereinigte Deutsche Metallwerke A.G., and commissioned by them and partners; Hilgers yard had overall and fitting out responsibility; hull was built by Ambau at Kiel; ship will be used mainly on Rhine; weight is 90 tons (metric) as against 210 tons for steel tanker of Koenig class; design, fabrication data and plans.
