Built by Ateliers et Chantiers de France for Tidemar Corp of Wilmington, Del; length oa 844 ft 3 7/8 in., breadth 110 ft, depth 61 ft 4 in.; deadweight on load draft of 39 ft 11 1/2 in. is 60,000 tons and deadweight at summer freeboard 72,600 tons; 39 tanks are provided; CEM-Parsons turbines give service output of 22,000 shp at 99 rpm for speed of 16.9 knots.
