Measurements in tests are related to directional response of vehicle when subjected to controlled inputs from driver, road surface or disturbance forces such as crosswind; in driver-vehicle-road system measurable driver inputs are steering angle, throttle position, and brake force; output is vehicle reaction with road surface permitting analysis of understeer or oversteer, gain, and response time; application of telemetry system to acquisition of these data is described together with General Motors Proving Ground 11-channel, FM-FM constant bandwidth radio telemetry system.
