Response of highway bridges under passage of vehicles is studied; bridge is idealized as damped linear system and special renewal counting process is used to represent vehicular traffic; response of bridge is then considered as filtered renewal process; method is developed to obtain, numerically, response quantities such as probability density function and expected rate of threshold crossings; example is given.
