Working method for estimating "safe life" of aircraft is developed where flight loads giving rise to fatigue are overwhelmingly due to atmospheric turbulence but where allowance has to be made for "ground-to-air" loads; family of damage curves is presented, from which permissible life of wing can readily be determined; numerical examples illustrate use of curves.
