Behavior of symmetrical bodies in uniform axial motion is analyzed to demonstrate equivalence between problems of water-exit and -entry (provided cavitation is not present); principle applies only to vertical component of force and is limited in practical application to surface crossing of slender bodies at relatively low speeds.
