Composition and distribution of tektites, with fact of apparent ablation in flight, strongly suggest extraterrestrial origin; comparison of meteor procession of 1913 with reentry of artificial satellite 1957 Beta suggests that procession resulted from ablation of such single body; ultimate source of original tektite-producing body probably is moon.
