Performance of single-stage, heat-transfer-type rockets using either dispersed-fuel-in-graphite reactors or tungsten-fuel-element-in-BeO reactors with hydrogen as propellant is evaluated for earth-satellite missions; study indicates payloads up to about 10% of gross weight are possible.
