All stabilizing devices increased drag coefficient of right circular cylinder inasmuch as projected frontal area was doubled; conical-flare model only has 30% more drag than cylinder; truncated-cone nose fairings were more effective than circular-arc nose fairings in reducing drag coefficient; pertinence to ballistic missiles.
