Model ZT was selected as parent of British Shipbldg Research Assn series; it is considered to represent good modern practice, despite unusually large standard bilge radius; experiments with other models emphasize great penalty for carrying pronounced shoulder in forebody and show considerable advantage to be gained from small bilge radius, and of deep cruiser stern when size of propeller aperture permits.
