Series of test rocket firings conducted during 18 mo to establish operational feasibility of numerous rocket systems for meteorological observations; it is possible to obtain data from 200, 000 ft to surface through application of single parachute and balloon combination; launch and flight characteristics of tested rockets are presented for use in applying this new observational technique.
