In speed range of jet transport (high subsonic) boundary layer noise may be dominant source of annoyance to crew and passengers; wall pressure fluctuations, turbulent-velocity fluctuations; and mean-velocity profiles were measured at forward fuselage and wing station on jet fighter in flight as part of aerodynamic noise program of Lewis Research Center; measurements are in agreement with results obtained in flight and wind tunnels.
