Study of series of nozzle lifting surface combinations which might represent VTOL configuration which employed direct thrust from wing or fuselage mounted engines for take-off; results show that thrust characteristics within ground proximity can be made favorable; configurations included simple jet, 4, 6, and 8 exit multiple jets and double jet with fuselage.
