Section of flexible runway pavement and adjoining rigid pavement section were subjected to 5000 coverages of accelerated traffic with test load cart simulating B-52 traffic to check Corps of Engineers design criteria for both types of pavements; results are given on densification in top layers of base and subbase, on unchanged strength characteristics of asphaltic concrete, and on cracking.
