It is suggested that airships using thermal ascent can be noiseless, safe, and economically competitive, and could be used to replace high noise level helicopters for transport of passengers to and from airports; 350,000 cu ft airship with gross lift of 10 tons, capable of transporting 30 passengers with luggage and crew, is taken as standard, and certain design and operating characteristics are considered.
