Airship is shown to be compatible with nuclear propulsion due mainly to low powers required for propulsion and separation distance available between crew personnel and reactor; typical nuclear airship configuration shown; power package best suited for airship propulsion would combine compact-core reactor as heat source with open "Brayton" cycle turboprop engines for power conversion; unit type shield considered best suited to airship.
