Study of stall propagation in stationary circular cascade in which high-speed schlieren and interferometer photography is used; analytical approach is suggested which is valid only for isolated blade row in infinite flow field, but not restricted to small unsteady perturbations or to assumed simplified cascade geometry; conditions for existence of assumed type of stall cells and equations derived for velocity of stall-cell propagation.
